A coat of paint can make anything look new. Paint coffee tables, end tables, and even picture frames with a new coat of paint and watch it transform the space. If you want, you can even paint an accent wall in your room for an extra pop of color without investing too much time or money.

3. Add some fresh greenery.

Plants not only brighten your space up but help purify the air. Grab some colorful houseplants for a few bucks at Walmart and pair them with some pretty pots. They are sure to brighten up the space.

There are so many local buy/sell groups on Facebook and other social media venues. Join these groups to buy and sell to people in your area. It is a great way to get rid of old and make money to buy new or to buy some cheap new to you items.
